Z ARCHIVE D3 - Hwy 23 Milaca to Ogilvie: 2024 construction
We're excited to announce all lanes on Hwy 23 between Milaca and Bock will open and the detour will lift by Fri afternoon, Sept. 13!
This marks the completion of the $6.5 million project that began in mid-May to resurface and improve 12 miles of Hwy 23 from Milaca to east of Ogilvie in Mille Lacs and Kanabec Counties.
The project showcases:
- A new, smoother asphalt road surface, includes shoulders
- Updated drainage structures—new pipe west of Bock; box bridge east of Bock; and box bridge at the South Fork Groundhouse River
- Improved access and safety—realigned 100th Ave./Mille Lacs Co. Rd. 101 to/from Hwy 23, east of Milaca, and added new left turn lanes on Hwy 23 at 90th Ave./Co. Rd. 144
- Updated reflective road markings, mumble strips and shoulder barriers
Like all roadwork projects, motorists may encounter a periodic lane or shoulder closure as crews finish up tasks and remove detour signs and traffic control devices.
MnDOT thanks you for your patience during the detour. We hope you enjoy the new smoother road surface, updated drainage and improved access and safety along Hwy 23.
This will be our final email update for the Hwy 23 Milaca to Ogilvie roadwork project.
