Highway 11 Warroad project update: July 12
What's happening now?
- Crews have began paving Hwy 11 south of the bridge
- Continued storm sewer and utility work on Cedar Ave.
What's next?
- Once paving is complete, crews will move to the other side of Hwy 11 and begin more utility work. Weather permitting, traffic will switch to opposite lanes later next week.
Traffic Impact:
The contractor for this $17.5 million dollar project is Spruce Valley. This project will create a safer, longer lasting driving surface as well as improve drainage, pedestrian accessibility, and a safer intersection. It is estimated to be complete by October 2024, and resume in the spring of 2025, weather permitting. Visit the project website below for more information, sign up for email updates, as well as a project map: www.mndot.gov/d2/projects/hwy11-warroad.
Important reminders for motorists regarding work zone safety:
- Slow down when approaching every work zone, then navigate through with care and caution.
- Stay alert; work zones constantly change.
- Watch for workers and slow-moving equipment.
- Obey posted speed limits. Fine for a violation in a work zone is $300.
- Minimize distractions behind the wheel.
- Be patient; expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
