We appreciate your patience as the detour was installed last week and prep work began on the Highway 114 Lowry to Starbuck project. There's been a change to the staging plan, and crews plan to begin today, Monday, July 15, on replacing centerline culverts on the south end of the project, near Starbuck.
Originally the plan was to start on underground utility replacements in Lowry, but the materials for that work are delayed to arrive. In the meantime, they are going to focus on replacing centerline culverts between Starbuck and Lowry. The culvert work will take a few weeks to complete. Each culvert will take 1-3 days and the road will be impassable to all traffic at each culvert site. For local traffic (those who have a destination on the roadway), you may need to find an alternate route or enter from the south instead of the north, or vice versa, depending on your destination.
In addition to the culvert work, toward the end of the week, crews will also do some directional drilling in Lowry.
Local traffic navigation
Business and residential access is being maintained during construction. If you must use Highway 114 to access a cross street or your destination, be aware of restrictions in the areas where crews are working. You may need to enter from the south instead of the north, or vice versa.
Thru-traffic detour
If you do not have a destination on Highway 114, please follow the signed detour route on Highway 55 and Highway 28.
