Highway 75 Perley- June 27 update
What's happening now?
- Reclaim removed and stockpiled from CR 39
- Topsoil stripping from levee at CR 39 and Hwy 75 on north side of town
- Excavation for new elevator driveway
- Started bypass excavation this week
What's happening next?
- Pipe removal and install
- Begin gate well
- Bypass ditch
The project began May 28 and is led by the Wild Rice Watershed District and includes raising the grade of Highway 75 north and south of Perley. Motorists will detour utilizing Norman County roads 25, 4, 39, 12, as well as Clay County roads 11 and 34.
In addition to the grade raise, project elements include:
- Grade raise on CR 39 in Perley
- Highway 75 concrete mainline, bituminous shoulders
- Norman CR 39 mill and overlay within the town of Perley

Benefits of the project include a safer road, improved drainage and a smoother and longer lasting driving surface.
Important reminders for motorists regarding work zone safety:
- Slow down when approaching every work zone, then navigate through with care and caution.
- Stay alert; work zones constantly change.
- Watch for workers and slow-moving equipment.
- Obey posted speed limits. Fine for a violation in a work zone is $300.
- Minimize distractions behind the wheel.
- Be patient; expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
