Z ARCHIVE D3 - Hwy 23 Milaca to Ogilvie: 2024 construction
With all the rainy weather this past month, the anticipated progress on Hwy 23 has been delayed. Unfortunately, this has impacted the initial project schedule and we wanted to give you an adjusted look-ahead.
Crews had to channel the South Fork Groundhouse River to work on this double-box bridge between 50th Ave. and Bear St. Due to the high water levels of the river, water has intruded into the work area.
Bock to Ogilvie
Detour extends to mid-July
-
Detour: Hwy 23 will have to remain closed and detoured between Mille Lacs Co. Rd. 24 and north junction Hwy 47 through the holiday weekend and the following week.
-
Locals who travel within the work zone:
- Expect segments of lane closures, alternate one-way traffic, flaggers and use of a pilot car from sunrise to sunset on good weather days.
- Follow signs and enter/exit the work zone nearest to your destination to avoid delays.
-
Open by July 12: Crews hope to remove the detour and open the new, smoother lanes by Fri, July 12. Let's cross our fingers Mother Nature cooperates!
