Highway 11 Warroad project update: June 14
What's happening now?
- Crews finished installing storm sewer on the west side of Hwy 11
- They began sub cutting the road core and replacing with new aggregate
- Many city water line connections on side streets were replaced along with sanitary sewer replacements
- On Cedar Ave., crews began delivering storm sewer materials to the site for staging
- Storm sewer outlet structures were installed near Lake St.
What's next?
- Storm sewer installation will progress north on Cedar Ave.
- City utility work on side streets will continue south of the Warroad river bridge on Hwy 11
- Subcut work on Hwy 11 will continue and crews will prepare grade for curb/gutter and sidewalk
Traffic Impact:
The contractor for this $17.5 million dollar project is Spruce Valley. This project will create a safer, longer lasting driving surface as well as improve drainage, pedestrian accessibility, and a safer intersection. It is estimated to be complete by October 2024, and resume in the spring of 2025, weather permitting. Important reminders for motorists regarding work zone safety:
- Slow down when approaching every work zone, then navigate through with care and caution.
- Stay alert; work zones constantly change.
- Watch for workers and slow-moving equipment.
- Obey posted speed limits. Fine for a violation in a work zone is $300.
- Minimize distractions behind the wheel.
- Be patient; expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
