Massive bridge beams arrive to work site June 17–19
Construction is on schedule and crews will deliver and place bridge beams for the future northbound Hwy 169 bridge over Main St. Once placed, deck forming will begin.
Motorists may see and encounter trucks hauling each oversized beam to the work site. Please slow down, give them room to navigate turns and enter into the work zone. These beams are massive, watch the road and try not to gawk.
Made in USA
- The beams are pre-stressed/casted concrete and made in Elk River, MN, USA.
- Each beam weighs 112 tons, 7 ft. tall and 192 ft. long.
Hwy 169 at Main St.
- Hwy 169 remains one lane each way, 24-7, between Hwy 10 and School St.
- Main St. closed west and east of Hwy 169

Through mid-August
Access will close after 8 p.m. Sun, June 23, at the intersection of Main St./181st Ave. and Zane St./Line Ave. will close east of Hwy 169 in Elk River. Work will include removals, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, curb, sidewalks and asphalt paving.
Motorists to follow road signs along Twin Lakes Rd. between 179th St. and Line Ave. The access will reopen in mid-August.
