Bridge structures
Work on the double-box bridge at South Fork Groundhouse River between 50th Ave. and Bear St. is nearly complete. Crews hope to have the structure installed by Fri, June 21.
The box bridge east of Cable St./Kanabec Co. Rd. 52 was replaced in early June.
Road surface
Work is now ready to ramp up and paving operations to start the week of June 24 on the Bock to Ogilvie stretch.
Locals who travel within the Hwy 23 work zone will encounter segments of lane closures, alternate one-way traffic, flaggers and use of a pilot car from sunrise and sunset on good weather days. Follow signs and enter/exit the work zone nearest to your destination to avoid delays.
Detour extends to July 3
Due to recent rainy weather, the detour will need to be extended a few days to complete work. Hwy 23 will remain closed and detoured until July 3 between Mille Lacs Co. Rd. 24 Bock and north junction Hwy 47 Ogilvie. The detour goes north of Hwy 23 along Mille Lacs Co. Rd. 24, Kanabec Co. Rd. 26 and Hwy 47 (adds 14 miles to trip).
