D1 - Hwy 61 in Two Harbors: 2027-2028 construction

MnDOT to host visual quality public meeting in Two Harbors

DULUTH, Minn. – The Minnesota Department of Transportation is hosting a visual quality public meeting for the Hwy 61 project through Two Harbors on Tuesday, May 21, at 5 p.m. in the Two Harbors Public Library, 320 Waterfront Dr. The purpose of this public meeting is to share information on the aesthetics aspect of the Hwy 61 project. There will be a brief presentation and time for questions about the project. There will also be display boards showing concepts with possible colors, textures, lighting, greenery, signage and more for along the corridor.

Members of a visual quality committee have been brainstorming ideas and narrowing them down to create a vision for the Hwy 61 corridor. This meeting will give the public an opportunity to view the committee’s progress and to share feedback on ideas presented.
