The April showers didn't stop crews from continuing their progress on Stage 1A of the project. They've started off the new month by checking more things off the list and preparing for a busy May!
This week's progress
Muddy conditions made for some slower-moving operations this week, but crews were still able to begin tying in private services, and are finishing up storm sewer replacements through the Highway 108 east intersection. That work will continue into next week, and when completed, they'll begin grading at the Highway 59/Highway 108 intersection to prepare the site for concrete crews, who are scheduled to arrive mid-May.
At the bridge over the Pelican River, crews finished coring the holes that will serve as outlets for the storm sewer system. They're currently hooking up the manhole and outlet structures on the north side of the bridge, and will start to prepare the bridge site for concrete, too.
Crews install the manhole structure that hooks up to the storm sewer outlet on the north side of the bridge. View from the City's downtown live camera.
Crews tie in private services along the Highway 59 Stage 1A work zone.

Safety reminders
We have detour routes set up for every type of road user. Trucks and thru-traffic should follow the signed routes out of town, city residents and visitors can follow the in-town detour route (see map), and if you are walking, biking or rolling through town, please follow the signed pedestrian routes. We know it may be inconvenient at times, and you may need to walk a block or two out of the way to get around, but your cooperation is important for your safety.
Pelican Rapids businesses are OPEN during construction, so follow the various detours to best navigate around the work zone and stop in to support them!
