The project includes reconstructing Highway 220 to a concrete road from Polk CR 19 to Polk CR 22/23. Culvert replacements will also be constructed throughout the project. Motorists will detour utilizing 150th St SW and Polk County roads 66 and 23.

Project benefits and cost
Benefits of the project include a safer road, improved drainage, and a smoother and longer lasting driving surface. Michels Road & Stone is the contractor for the $15.6 million project.
MNDOT strives to maintain access to residents and businesses during construction except for short periods of time, which cannot be avoided. When an access may be closed for a short duration, the resident or business owner will be directly contacted by the contractor to make accommodations.
Important reminders for motorists regarding work zone safety:
- Slow down when approaching every work zone, then navigate through with care and caution.
- Stay alert; work zones constantly change.
- Watch for workers and slow-moving equipment.
- Obey posted speed limits. Fine for a violation in a work zone is $300.
- Minimize distractions behind the wheel.
- Be patient; expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
