Rescheduled: I-94 Oakdale to Lakeland lane and ramp closures begin April 16

The upcoming 10th St. N. to northbound I-694 ramp closure previously set to begin Wed, April 10 has been rescheduled to April 16 due to scheduling issues.

Starting at 7 a.m. Tue, April 16, the entrance ramp from 10th St. N. to northbound I-694 will close through the fall. Closing this ramp will allow drivers to safely navigate the detour routes for the upcoming I-94/I-494/I-694 interchange ramp closures.

You can bypass the 10th St. N. to northbound I-694 ramp closure by using 10th St. N., Inwood Ave. N., Stillwater Blvd., Ideal Ave. N., 34th St. N. and northbound I-694.

Westbound I-94 lane closures and I-94/I-494/I-694 interchange ramp closures rescheduled to April 17

The westbound I-94 lane closures and I-94/I-494/I-694 interchange ramp closures that were scheduled to start on Sun, April 14 have also been delayed.

Now, starting at 9 p.m. on Wed, April 17, westbound I-94 will be reduced to a single lane between Woodbury Dr. and Hwy 120/Century Ave. to allow construction crews to shift traffic to the east side of the interstate. Beginning at 5 a.m. the following morning, Thu, April 18, westbound I-94 will be reduced to two lanes in this same area until the middle of July.

The following I-94/I-494/I-694 interchange ramp closures will also begin at 9 p.m. on Wed, April 17:

• The ramp from westbound I-94 to southbound I-494
• The ramp from northbound I-494 to westbound I-94

The ramps will be closed until the middle of July. Bypass the closures by using the 10th St. interchange.

All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather and schedule permitting and subject to change.

More about this project

MnDOT will be resurfacing the pavement and making other improvements to I-94 between Hwy 120/Century Ave. and the St. Croix River through fall 2024. The work will improve safety, traffic flow and ride smoothness.
