Crews returned in early March to set up for 2024 construction of the final Hwy 169 interchange at Main St. It looked like an early start, but with the recent wet conditions and material delays, the schedule will shift to an April start.
 Real-time intersection camera on www.511mn.org at Hwy 169 and Main St. The signal will be deactivated Sat, April 13 to construct a new interchange.
Hwy 169 and Main St.
Through mid-April
- Prepare the work zone and install temporary crossovers and bypass lanes on Hwy 169. This work requires periodic lane closures on Hwy 169 between Hwy 10 and School St.
Mon, April 1
- Main St. on the west side of Hwy 169 will close at 9 a.m. to Carson Ave. to construct a temporary bypass lane
- Main St. on east side of Hwy 169 will remain open
Sat, April 13
- Crews will deactivate and remove the signal system at Hwy 169 and Main St.
- Hwy 169 will be reduced to one lane, each direction, 24-7, between Hwy 10 and School St.
- Crews will construct the northbound side first as traffic uses southbound Hwy 169
- Main St. on the west side of Hwy 169 will remain closed to Carson Ave.
- Main St. on the east side of Hwy 169 will close to Zane St.
Elk River is open
Local access will be open and maintained. Hwy 169 access will be open at Hwy 10, School St., Jackson/193rd Ave. and 197th Ave.
