Hwy 169 and Main St.
Expect lane closures, access changes
Crews have begun to prepare for construction of the final Hwy 169 interchange at Main St.
Here's what to expect:
Through March
Prepare the work zone and install temporary crossovers and bypass lanes. This work requires periodic lane closures on Hwy 169 between Hwy 10 and School St.
Week of March 25
Main St. on the west side of Hwy 169 will close to Carson Ave. to construct a temporary bypass lane
Main St. on east side of Hwy 169 will remain open
Week of April 1
Crews will deactivate and remove the signal system at Hwy 169 and Main St.
Hwy 169 will be reduced to one lane, each direction, 24-7, between Hwy 10 and School St.
Crews will construct the northbound side first as traffic uses southbound Hwy 169
Main St. on the west side of Hwy 169 will remain closed to Carson Ave.
Main St. on the east side of Hwy 169 will close to Zane St.
Elk River is open
Local access will be open and maintained. Hwy 169 access will be open at Hwy 10, School St., Jackson/193rd Ave. and 197th Ave.

The event is drop-in style to better fit individual schedules. Guests may arrive at any time to learn, ask questions and then leave at their convenience.

More about this 169 Redefine project
When the freeway is complete in 2024, the project will improve traffic flow, increase capacity and reduce bottle necks, and improve motorist and pedestrian safety along three miles of Hwy 169 in Elk River, Sherburne County.
