SE Minnesota winter driving alerts
The National Weather Service has issued several winter storm headlines for the region, including a winter storm warning for Fillmore and Houston counties. A winter storm will cause heavy snow and strong winds Monday evening through Tuesday.
- Snow totals will range from 2-8". Higher snow totals near the Minnesota-Iowa border. Snow totals may change as the forecast is refined
- Heaviest snow will fall early morning Tuesday
- Blowing snow will cause reduced visibility and slick roads, regardless of snow totals
- Motorists should be prepared for hazardous to difficult driving conditions Tuesday
- Plan ahead, especially during the morning commute. Consider leaving earlier for your destination or calling ahead to let them know you'll be running late
