We can see the finish line! Final striping is nearly complete and Highway 34 between Detroit Lakes and Osage is expected to reopen to all traffic by tomorrow, Friday, Sept. 29!
There's still some work remaining, so when traveling on Highway 34, please drive with extreme caution and give workers room to work.
All of this work will be performed under traffic, in various locations throughout the entire work zone. You may encounter lane closures, pilot cars and flaggers in the areas crews are working. Please drive with extreme caution, slow down and obey traffic control.
All schedules and work plans are subject to change at any time based on weather, contractor schedules or other unforeseen circumstances or issues.
With just a short do-list left to be completed, this will be our last email update for the 2023 project. We want to send a very big thank you to area businesses, residents and visitors for your patience and cooperation during this project. Your partnership and commitment to safety truly helped to make this project a success!

In 2024, MnDOT will complete 7 miles of pavement reconstruction and shoulder widening on Highway 34, from County Road 26/47 near Osage (where this year's project left off) to Western Avenue in Park Rapids.
