Sending a quick note to let you know that some things have changed since our update this morning! Phase 1 (Main Avenue to Highway 34) will not reopen to local traffic today as originally planned. To mitigate traffic impacts at the intersection of HIghway 9 and Highway 34, the contractor will begin paving the final lift in Phase 1 this week! We apologize for any inconvenience this change causes, and appreciate your patience!
Work in Phase 3 (Highway 34 to I-94) is still planned to start tomorrow, Aug. 16, and paving in both Phases 1 and 3 is expected to be done before Potato Days!
Highway 9 thru-traffic remains detoured to I-94 and County Road 30 until the project is complete in September.

**Reminder: Construction schedules are always subject to change without warning due to weather, contractor workplans, or any unforeseen delays or issues.
Residential and business access is being maintained at all times, but local traffic should expect restrictions in the areas where crews are working. Depending on your destination, you will need to use local streets to get around construction.
Barnesville businesses remain open during construction! Check in with the business to get the best route to their location.
If your destination does not fall within the work zone, please take the detour or find an alternate route.
