Work begins on Hwy 23 west of the interchange
Crews will begin to reconstruct Hwy 23 west of the interchange between Hwy 10 and Wilson Ave. Be prepared for delays as Hwy 23 will become one lane head-to-head traffic through this work area by Fri, May 12.
Here's what to expect:
-
Hwy 23 will reduce to one lane, each direction, 24-7, on the westbound side of the road, as crews reconstruct the eastbound side between Wilson Ave. SE and Hwy 10
- Lincoln Ave. SE will be open to/from Hwy 23
-
Hwy 23 will continue to have periodic lane closures east of Hwy 10
-
Hwy 10 remains one lane, each direction, 24-7, between 15th Ave. SE and Benton Dr. until Nov. 1
-
Interchange ramp closures:
- EB Hwy 23 to EB Hwy 10 ramp will close by Fri, May 12
-
Detour: Use Lincoln Ave. and 15th Ave. SE
- EB Hwy 10 to WB Hwy 23 ramp closed
- EB Hwy 10 to EB Hwy 23 loop ramp closed
-
Detour: Use Golden Spike Rd. and Benton Co. Rd. 1
-
St. Cloud open: Access will be maintained to those who live, work, visit or shop within this project area; however, expect changes and use of alternate entrances, and follow road signs.
- Lincoln Ave. SE will be open to/from Hwy 23
- Fourth St. SE remains closed between Lincoln Ave. SE and Hwy 10
- Use Lincoln Ave. SE and 15th Ave. SE
If rainy conditions, closure may delay to Mon, May 15.
Work zone by Fri, May 12. Hwy 23 will be reduced to one lane, each direction, 24-7, west of the interchange at Hwy 10
Campers, boats and trailers
Motorists should expect high traffic volumes on Hwy 10 this weekend as Minnesota's open water fishing season officially begins Sat, May 13.
Hwy 10 is reduced to one lane, head-to-head traffic through east St. Cloud. Expect slow or stopped traffic. Plan ahead and seek alternate routes.
Avoid these peak recreational travel times on weekends:
- Westbound on Friday afternoon/evening
- Eastbound on Sunday afternoon/evening
