Open house on May 2

Please join MnDOT at our open house on Tuesday, May 2, from 4:30 to 7 p.m., at the MnDOT Headquarters, 1000 U.S. Highway 10 West in Detroit Lakes, to learn more about this year’s road construction project on Highway 34. There will be no formal presentation, just stop in whenever it's convenient. 

For those who cannot attend the in-person open house, detour maps and other construction information, as well as a MnDOT contact information and an online form to submit comments and questions, can be found on the project website.

About the project

This summer, MnDOT will resurface Highway 34, from County Road 29 (four corners) to County Road 26/47 (old MN 225) just west of Osage. The project will address pavement concerns, culvert replacements and a bridge replacement at the Shell River. Road construction is expected to start mid-May and will be completed in October.
