Metro – Hwy 13 in Savage and Burnsville: 2022-2024 construction
With spring finally here, work is continuing on the Hwy 13 interchange project in Savage, between the Hwy 101 interchange and Quentin Ave.
Beginning Mon, April 10 from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Fri, April 14, eastbound Hwy 13 will have lane closures during off-peak hours, while crews complete pond construction.
At 1 p.m. Fri, April 14, eastbound Hwy 13 will be reduced to one lane. Then, at 8 p.m. traffic will switch to one lane in both directions with head-to-head traffic, where it will remain until Mon, July 10. Crews are grading and paving Hwy 13 and adding a concrete median.
Crews are also continuing to work on the north and south frontage roads in the project area through fall 2023.
All construction activities and traffic impacts are weather permitting and subject to change.
We’re building a new Hwy 13 bridge over Dakota Ave., as well as access ramps, to reduce traffic backups and improve safety. Construction of the project, between the Hwy 13/Hwy 101 interchange and Quentin Ave., is scheduled through fall 2023.
