MnDOT training in highway construction trades - seeking applicants now

MnDOT and its partners host free workforce training for eligible participants in 2023. Free hands-on training can lead to a rewarding career in highway construction. Please share!

Carpenters training

Learn about the highway heavy construction industry. Gain skills through hands-on training and earn safety certifications. Connect with employers. Presented in partnership with the Carpenters Training Institute. 

• Training will be held June 12 to July 14 (five weeks) in Rochester

Construction laborer training

Learn hands-on skills for highway heavy construction labor. Earn safety certifications. Meet with industry employers. Presented in partnership with Workforce Development, Inc. and Local 405 Laborers International Union of North America.

• Training will be held from May 1 to May 26, 2023 (four weeks) in Rochester

Cement masonry laborer training

Learn the technical skills needed for cement masonry labor. Earn safety certifications. Meet with industry employers. Presented in partnership with DEED and Cement Masons Local 633.

• Training will be held from April 17 to May 19, 2023 (five weeks) in New Brighton

Attend a virtual Construction and Trades Info Session

Learn about a two-week construction and trades pathway program in Hennepin County. Offered in partnership with Brooklynk.
