Great news—all 14 miles of Hwy 27 now open!
We're happy to share that the detour has been removed and Hwy 27 is open to all travelers in time for the holidays.Â
All major construction activities are completed. Thank you for your patience during this Hwy 27 project.
Enjoy the new and improved roadway and bridges
Throughout the six-month, $19.5 million project, crews were able to complete the following improvements:
- Reconstruct three bridges over waterways near Osakis, which includes the bridge over the Sauk RiverÂ
- Reconstruct the Lake Wobegon Trail bridge over Hwy 27 in Osakis
- Repair or replace drainage pipesÂ
- Reconstruct, resurface, widen the road, and improve safety and access along Hwy 27
A big thank you
We recognize roadwork and detours are inconvenient and we are grateful for your patience during this Hwy 27 project. We hope you enjoy the new wider road surface, updated drainage and improved safety, and a better Lake Wobegon Trail experience.
