Congratulations Brianna Jensch, Office & Administration Supervisor, on receiving an Above and Beyond Award for Supervisory Excellence. The following nomination was submitted by Autumn Hampton, Barbara Pierson and Melissa Bartlett.
"Brianna, your team has nominated you for the Supervisory Excellence category because they say every interaction with you makes them feel valued as an employee and that their actions and ideas matter.
Your team said they feel like you want them to grow as people and as workers, whether it means staying with the team or developing elsewhere, and that they feel represented because you advocate on their behalf.
You also shoulder substantial work and step in to help whether it’s an in-office day or from home depending on the needs of the team.
But you also keep work fun by remembering birthdays and utilizing creative, upbeat ways to positively increase your team’s workplace satisfaction and influence the day-to-day atmosphere."
In this document, you can find information about the Above and Beyond program and how to nominate someone. Do you work with someone who goes above and beyond regularly or during a special circumstance? We’d like to know, and nominate that person or group of individuals.

Do you know of someone who wants extra money on the side and the potential to have a full-time position at MnDOT? The Temporary/Emergency Snowplow Driver positions are an excellent option. That's how Daniel Kopsell became a Transportation Generalist.
"I worked as an emergency employee for two years as a 45 day employee and liked it because I found it relaxing. I decided to seek a full-time position because I enjoyed the position and my co-workers, and I am now a full-time Transportation Generalist." - Daniel Kopsell

A few highlights:
- Silent Auction will be held for all D6 employees in late October. We are looking for donations from employees who may have a hobby, service, or item they would like to donate for auction baskets. Please contact Brianna Jensch or Nina Stupeck if you would like to donate by Oct. 14.
- Mark Schoenfelder has agreed to take a pie to the face if we meet the District 6 goal of raising payroll deduction participation to 3%!
- A virtual scavenger hunt game will be available to employees to help them learn more about the charities and have a chance at winning a door prize!
If you would like more information, would like to donate an item, or would like to donate your time to help with the upcoming events please contact Nina Stupeck (nina.stupeck@state.mn.us) or Brianna Jensch (brianna.jensch@state.mn.us)

Figuring out the true root cause of an employee injury or incident is extremely important to help implement corrective/preventative actions to reduce or eliminate the chance of it happening again.
A new eLearning course has been added to the Safety Sharepoint site called Root Cause Analysis. It's towards the bottom of the list and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. The objective of the training is to provide guidance and examples of how to conduct root cause analysis. This is a helpful training for supervisors to help ensure they are asking the right/enough questions. It is helpful for others as well to make sure they are providing enough details to get to the root cause of an incident.
