This week, construction crews began traffic signal upgrades along Hiawatha Ave. This work will take place through early October.
Beginning at 5 a.m. Mon, Sept. 19, the Hiawatha Ave./Minnehaha Ave. intersection will be partially closed for traffic signal repairs through 10 p.m. on Fri, Sept. 23. Motorists traveling on Minnehaha Ave. will be detoured to 54th St. to cross and to make turns onto Hiawatha Ave.
Then beginning at 5 a.m. Mon, Sept. 26, the Hiawatha Ave./38th St. intersection will be partially closed for traffic signal replacement through early October. Motorists traveling on 38th St. will be detoured to 35th St. to cross and to make turns onto Hiawatha Ave.
Expect intermittent lane closures near these intersections when work is occurring to give crews space access each work zone. Watch for equipment and construction vehicles in the area.
Pedestrian and bicycle access
Pedestrians and bicyclists should follow the posted detours to cross Hiawatha Ave. when the traffic signal upgrades are in progress. All intersections will remain accessible during this work.
