It's been a busy month on Highway 200 between Mahnomen and Roy Lake! Here's an update on what's been completed and what's coming up:
Shoulder widening
Crews are finishing up shoulder widening east of the Twin Lakes Bridge. They are expecting to wrap up in that area next week! They also started on the first mile of shoulder widening west of the bridge today, and that operation will continue heading west.
Bridge replacement at Twin Lakes Creek
Crews have poured the new bridge deck at Twin Lakes Creek. It's an exciting milestone for the bridge replacement! However, they are still waiting on supplies--the final delivery date for those materials is now showing mid-October. Because of these delivery delays, we are anticipating the bridge to reopen by the end of October. We apologize for any inconveniences this extended closure may cause. Work on the bridge replacement continues and is ongoing as materials arrive.
If you have a destination on Highway 200, remember that the road is impassable at Twin Lakes Creek and you will need to follow the detour or find an alternate route around the bridge site.
All thru-traffic should continue to follow the detour: Highway 59, Highway 113 and CR 39.
The bridge deck is prepped and ready for concrete!
Beatty Creek Culvert & Roy Lake
During the first week of September, the roadway will be reduced to one lane near Beatty Creek and Roy Lake for residents/local traffic, while crews replace the Beatty Creek culvert and complete some additional pavement work near Roy Lake. If you have to access Highway 200 and must travel through this area, please obey flaggers.
As construction along the entire project continues, we encourage residents to watch 511mn.org and on-site message boards for additional closure information and other local traffic impacts.
