D6 – Hwy 52 Zumbrota to Cannon Falls: 2021-2023 construction improvements
August efforts
Highway 52 construction crews have been busy at work on the project since our last update. The project continues to stay on schedule, and next month will see some traffic changes. We’ll plan to update you again as those occur in September.
Have you seen the work taking place? The crews have made great progress on our bridges . Take a look below:
Construction crews pouring concrete for Highway 52 southbound bridge abutment at Hader interchange.

Safety
Safety is key! Construction is still in full swing throughout our project area, and safety is the key element on the construction site and driving through the work zone. Thank you for continuing to drive safely through our work zones. Our workers appreciate your consideration and caution.
Motorists may encounter lane closures or lane shifts, uneven road surfaces, equipment and other unexpected obstacles when driving near or through work zones. MnDOT advises motorists to:
- Expect delays, especially during peak travel times.
- Go hands-free and minimize other distractions (e.g., don’t eat or drink while driving).
- Follow posted speed limits; the fine for speeding in a work zone is $300.
- Avoid making lane changes within work zones.
