This week, crews installed the beams over the railroad tracks. It's quite the operation when the beams come in. Crews must coordinate with the railroad to ensure no trains will be arriving during the installation, and flaggers must direct traffic on Highway 55 while the beams are being set.
You'll notice, too, that the hill south of the Highway 55 intersection is getting bigger and bigger. Crews are working on the south abutment fill, which will look similar to the hill you see to the north. On the flip side, crews are digging holes to complete storm sewer replacements at the 160th Street intersection.
