The Highway 87 project in Frazee is moving right along! Crews are currently working their way down the hill in Stage 1 (Hwy 10 to CR 10/Juniper Ave), as underground work in this area continues.
Next week, July 25-27, the City of Frazee will be closing the beach at Town Lake during storm sewer replacements. The beach is being closed as a safety precaution while crews are working around gas lines.
Reminder: Highway 87 is closed in Stage 1. The detour route is Highway 10 and CR 10/Juniper Avenue.
In Stage 3 (in front of the school), concrete is the star of the show. Crews are finishing up installing sidewalks, curb and gutter, and paving is scheduled to start next Wednesday, July 27! This section is being done under traffic, so continue to watch for trucks and heavy equipment moving through the work zone, and please be patient and obey flaggers.
As things start to wrap up in Stages 1 & 3, and we anticipate crews moving to Stage 2 (Juniper Ave to Birch Ave/CR 29) and Stage 4 (Hwy 10 overpass) by the second week of August. Both of those stages will be done under traffic with lane closures (Stage 4 will utilize an automated signal), and there will be a short-term closure while work is taking place at the railroad crossing. More info to come as we get closer to that start date!
