Hwy 29 overpass near Glenwood

Highway 55 to reopen today by 4 p.m.

Today is the day, folks: Highway 55 will reopen this afternoon. Crews are finishing up some final touches, but striping is done, signs are up and the new roundabout is operational! Thank you for your patience, cooperation and commitment to safety throughout this year's construction season!

When the highway reopens, motorists will travel on the existing alignment of Highway 55. The new alignment will remain closed until crews can return in the spring to tie everything together and switch traffic. The new alignment of Highway 55 will be used as part of the detour route for next year's work on Highway 29. 

Completed work

• Reconstruct 160th Street
• Construct roundabout at intersection of Hwy 55/160th Street
• Realign Highway 55

Upcoming schedule

• Reopen Hwy 55 by 4 p.m. today!
• Return in spring: Tie together new Hwy 55 alignment and switch traffic
• Return in spring: Construct Hwy 29 overpass bridge
• Return in spring: Construct roundabout at Hwy 29/160th Street
