2021 Construction: Hwy 87 Frazee to Becker/Wadena County Line
Great news: the guardrail is in place and the bridge over the Otter Tail River in Frazee is now open to local traffic only. Thru-traffic should continue to follow the detour, but if you have a destination on Highway 87, you can now cross the bridge to access Highway 87 from Frazee.
Thank you to all Highway 87/Frazee residents, businesses and visitors for your patience and cooperation during the bridge replacement.

In addition, paving between Frazee and Evergreen is expected to wrap up this week! Shouldering, final striping, rumbles and sign installation continue as well, and once those are complete, the road will reopen to all traffic. We are on schedule for that to happen by next Friday, Oct. 15 (as long as the weather cooperates).
All Highway 87 thru-traffic: please continue to follow the detour route on Highway 71, Highway 34 and County Road 29/Birch Avenue.
REMINDER: Railroad closure in Frazee starts Oct. 11
For those who live, work or travel in Frazee, you'll encounter an additional closure on Highway 87 starting Monday, Oct. 11 through Friday, Oct. 15. The road will be impassable at the railroad crossing in Frazee. Traffic will be detoured to Juniper Avenue West/County Road 10, Fifth Street Northwest and Main Avenue West.
During the short-term closure, railroad crews will replace the existing crossing with wider panels. This will ensure the crossing can accommodate the future trail and sidewalk that will be installed next year as part of the 2022 Highway 87 reconstruction project in the City of Frazee.
