Hwy 58 - Red Wing

Hwy 58/Plum Street lane shift at 5th Street in Red Wing begins July 21 for gas line installation

Motorists on Hwy 58/Plum Street in Red Wing will experience a lane shift at 5^th Street starting July 21 while crews install an underground gas line.

The work is being done by Xcel Energy and is independent of the current Hwy 58 resurfacing project. MnDOT is coordinating with them on alignment of tasks and to ensure work is done before the repaving occurs in that area.

Hwy 58/Plum Street traffic changes

The east half of Hwy 58/Plum Street is scheduled to be closed from July 21 to July 24 and then the closure will move to the west half from July 26 to July 29. Two lanes of head to head traffic will remain open but the turn lane will be shifted into a driving lane. Tube delineators will guide traffic to the proper driving lane. The sidewalk will be closed on the side where work is occurring.

5^th Street closure and detour

Xcel Energy has already started their project and has closed 5^th Street from Bush Street to Potter Street. Motorists should follow the detours of Potter Street to 6^th Street or Bush Street to 6^th Street.
