June 4 Update: Highway 200 near Walker
Update:
This week:
- crews have been working on widening the shoulders about 4.5 miles east of Highway 371.
Next week:
- Pipe jacking begins Tuesday
What's next?
- June 26th crews will begin work on culvert linings.
Traffic impact: Check www.511mn.org for the most up to date information. Currently, areas of the project are reduced to single lane with flagger operations. There is a speed limit of 45 miles per hour as well as an 11 foot width limit. Avoid distractions and pay attention in work zones. Safe travels!
Next Meeting
The Minnesota Department of Transportation will host the next virtual meeting on July 1 to discuss the Highway 200 project near Walker. Join us from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. as members of the project team discuss the project, answer questions, and take comments.

About the project:
Summary of work
- Reclaim, mill and overlay of a 15.6 mile stretch of Highway 200 between the junctions of Highway 371 Highway 84 in Cass County
- Widen shoulders
- Replace Bag Creek and Cedar Creek box culverts
- Add turn lanes
Highway 200 will be open to through traffic for most of the project. There will be a short-term detour during the box culvert installation portion of the project. Details on the project, including detour information is available on the project website.
Anderson Brothers is the prime contractor on the $10.6 million dollar project. All work is scheduled to be completed by the end of September, weather permitting.
