Beginning at 10 p.m. Fri, May 21 through 5 a.m. Mon, May 24, northbound I-35W will be fully closed to traffic from the I-35/35W/35E split in Burnsville to 106th St. in Bloomington to allow construction crews to place the top pavement layer on the travel lanes. The posted detour will use northbound I-35E, northbound Hwy 77 and westbound I-494.
The following northbound I-35W entrance and exit ramps will close at 9 p.m. on Fri, May 21, one hour before the freeway closes to northbound traffic:
- Northbound I-35W to/from County Hwy 42
- Northbound I-35W to/from Burnsville Pkwy.
- Northbound I-35W to/from Hwy 13
- Northbound I-35W to/from Cliff Rd.
- Northbound I-35W to/from Black Dog Rd.
- Northbound I-35W to/from 106th St.
Southbound I-35W and all associated entrance and exit ramps within the area will remain open during this time.
Timeframes are all approximate, subject to change and weather and schedule permitting.

The I-35W Minnesota River Bridge construction project will include reconstructing the I-35W and the 106th St. bridges spanning the Minnesota River, replacing pavement from Cliff Rd. to 106th St. and constructing a trail between Black Dog Rd. and Lyndale Ave.
