Congratulations to the Owatonna and Rochester Inventory team members for receiving an Above and Beyond Award! They were nominated by Gwen Hicks for their assistance and flexibility to many departments during a period of transition caused by the pandemic.
"The Inventory staff has met many challenges and adapted to a variety of changes over the past several month. In addition, the team has assisted other departments - taking care of the incoming and out going mail on a daily basis, assisting the D6 Adopt a Highway coordinator by providing no-contact pick up of supplies for the volunteers and working with the Business Office staff to accommodate process changes due to teleworking, to name a few. The Inventory staff is flexible and accommodating while working short staffed themselves. They have embodied teamwork and performance excellence."
On iHUB, you can find information about the Above and Beyond program and how to nominate someone.
Chade Trupe, Mark Hill, Pete Czaplewski and Carl Evers receiving their awards. Kyle Ackerman will receive his award early November.
Top Tips for Fire Safety
- Install smoke alarms on every level of your home, inside bedrooms and outside sleeping areas.
-
Test smoke alarms every month. If they’re not working, change the batteries.
-
Talk with all family members about a fire escape plan and practice the plan twice a year.
-
If a fire occurs in your home, GET OUT, STAY OUT and CALL FOR HELP. Never go back inside for anything or anyone.

Last year, Toys for Tots made a big impact in Southeast Minnesota - 18,936 toys distributed and 7,804 children supported. This year, the need is even bigger because of the pandemic.
Please consider making a difference through one of these options.
- Employees can drop off toys to our MnDOT Rochester headquarters in the front reception area by Wednesday, Nov. 25. Please remember, employees must complete the Employee Status and Health Screening before entering the building.
- Donations can also be made at the Southeast Minnesota Toys for Tots website. You can make a monetary donation or purchase an item through retailers the program has partnered with.
If you have questions, please contact Marnie Krohse.
