Good news! Project enters final weeks

Pedestrian walks, boulevard
- Pour concrete pedestrian walks downtown first, then continue along Hwy 24/Oak Avenue until completed. Pedestrians should stay out of closed areas and follow detour signs.
- Install pedestrian walk in boulevard bump-outs, also known as curb extensions or pedestrian peninsulas, at Chestnut Street, Cedar Street and Cherry Avenue. Bump-outs provide better visibility of pedestrians about to cross the road, shortens crosswalk distance and reduces motorist speed.
- Install stamped color enhanced concrete in boulevard areas along sidewalk.

New road surface, wrap-up work

Also, a final layer of asphalt will be paved on Hwy 24/Park Street between Oak Avenue and Poplar Avenue. Work will done the week of Sept. 28. Motorists will encounter flaggers directing traffic through the work area. Use side streets to avoid delays.
MnDOT thanks the community of Annandale for its patience during this project. The final project update will be sent when the road opens.
