Deer River Construction: Project Update
 What's up in Deer River?
Highway 6 Box Culvert- 4 Miles north of Deer River
Work is progressing on the box culvert on Highway 6, 4 miles north of Deer River. The new box culverts were placed on June 3. Work on the box is expected to be completed and open to traffic on June 12, weather dependent. Traffic is detoured for construction on Itasca County Road 142 and Itasca County Road 44.
Highway 6 and Highway 2 in Deer River
Work on Highway 6 in the City of Deer River is progressing north. Crews have been working on Stage 1, between Second Ave and Fifth Ave removing the old road and installing a new water main, sanitary services and water services. Crews will be working in this area next week (June 8) installing new storm sewer pipe and structures. Traffic is detoured for construction on First Ave, First Street NE and Tenth Ave in the City of Deer River.
