Southbound I-35W to Cliff Road ramp closure begins June 5

The southbound I-35W to Cliff Rd. ramp closure we previewed last week will begin at 8 p.m. on Fri, June 5. The closure is expected to be in place through early fall. Please use southbound I-35W, Hwy 13 and northbound I-35W to access Cliff Rd. during the closure.

Overnight southbound I-35W lane closures June 5

Beginning at 7 p.m. Fri, June 5, construction crews will be altering the southbound travel lanes between the River Bridge and Cliff Rd. to create a new traffic pattern that will be in place through late summer. Between 7 p.m. and 8 p.m., southbound I-35W will be reduced to two lanes. Then from 8 p.m. through 5 a.m. the following morning, June 6, southbound I-35W will be reduced to a single lane of traffic.

Look ahead! Be prepared to choose a lane on southbound I-35W beginning June 10

Beginning at 7 p.m. Tue, June 9, crews will be altering the southbound travel lanes between 106th St. and the River Bridge. After this traffic switch is complete on Wednesday morning, June 10, motorists traveling on southbound I-35W should be prepared to choose a lane north of the River Bridge through late summer. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Stay in the right lane to exit onto 106th St. and follow the “I-35W/local access” signs. You will need to be in this lane to exit onto 106th St.
    • Please note: This is the only exit currently open on southbound I-35W within our work zone.
  • If you’re traveling south of Cliff Rd. into Burnsville, you should use the right lanes and follow the “I-35W south” signs to continue through the construction area.
    • Please note: The far left southbound travel lane is reserved for MnPASS only during peak travel times.

Plan ahead before you drive
