We have some closures nearby of which we want you to be aware.
In August, a truck traveling on I-94 struck the 22nd Ave. pedestrian bridge causing significant damage. The 22nd Ave. pedestrian bridge has been closed since the incident, but this weekend crews will begin installing a temporary pedestrian bridge. To do this, we need a weekend closure of I-94. Beginning 10 p.m. Sat, Oct. 26, to 4 p.m. Sun, Oct. 27, I-94 will be closed in both directions between I-35W and Hwy 280. Drivers will be detoured to I-35W, Hwy 36 and I-35E.

WB I-94 nightly closure Oct. 25 through Nov. 9
That same truck also hit the 25th Avenue bridge. Beginning 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. nightly Fri, Oct. 25 through Sat, Nov. 9, we need to close WB I-94 between Hwy 280 and I-35W to repair the damages.
Motorists will be detoured to I-35E, Hwy 36 and I-35W. Hwy 280 does not have southbound access to I-35W.

Ramp and lane closures Oct. 26-27
We have to finish striping lanes on I-35W and ramps connecting to I-35W near downtown Minneapolis. The work will require some closures.
Lane closures:
- 6-10 a.m. Sat, Oct. 26, northbound I-35W will be reduced to a single lane between Washington Ave. and Portland Ave.
Ramp closures:
- 6-10 a.m. Sat, Oct. 26 and 4-10 p.m. Sun, Oct. 27, the ramp from SB I-35W to WB I-94 will be closed.
- 4-8 a.m. Sat. Oct. 26 and 4-10 p.m.. Sun, Oct. 27, the ramp from SB I-35W to EB Hwy 55 will be closed
Overnight closure of Lake St. scheduled October 28
We need to install the bridge deck drainage on the newly constructed I-35W bridge over Lake St. Beginning 10 p.m. Mon, Oct. 28, to 5 a.m. Tue, Oct. 29, Lake St. will be closed between 2nd Ave. S and Stevens Ave. Drivers will be detoured to use Park Ave./Portland Ave., 31st St. and Blaisdell Ave./Nicollet Ave.
Upcoming I-35W weekend closure November 1-4
Good news, we are getting ready to move the project into the next phase in which northbound traffic is shifted to the newly reconstructed lanes on southbound I-35W. Once traffic is moved off the existing northbound lanes, crews can begin reconstructing the new northbound lanes. To do the traffic shift, we need a weekend closure of I-35W and have tentatively scheduled the closure for the weekend of Nov. 1-4.
Beginning 10 p.m. on Fri, Nov. 1, I-35W will be closed in both directions between I-94 and Hwy 62 and reopen by 5 a.m. on Mon, Nov. 4. Drivers will be detoured to use Hwy 62, Hwy 100 and I-394. The ramps to and from I-35W will begin to close at 9 p.m. on Fri, Nov. 1.
