MnDOT advances closer to its Federal Highway Administration Disadvantaged Business Enterprise goal

For the first half of federal fiscal year 2019, Disadvantaged Business Enterprises received 11.1 percent of federally funded MnDOT contracts. This is the first of three years that the department has a 12.23 percent annual program goal, which is an increase from the previously established 11.7 percent goal.

The strong first half is the result of the efforts of many people and organizations working in collaboration – the contracting community, DBE program participants and MnDOT staff to name but a few. Our collective efforts will continue to promote small business participation in MnDOT contracts, and provide training programs and outreach opportunities that target the needs of small businesses working in highway heavy construction.
