Closures of I-35W and I-94 scheduled June 12-20

Crews continue to make progress on the new flyover bridge from northbound I-35W to westbound I-94 and need some closures of I-35W and I-94. The following is an updated list of road closures: 

• NB I-35W to 11th St./Grant St. into downtown: Wed, June 12 and Thu, June 13 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly
• Eastbound I-94 and WB I-94 between I-394 and I-35W: Wed, June 12 and Thu, June 13 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.; MnDOT will also be cleaning the Lowry Tunnel during this time
• SB I-35W between I-94 and Hwy 62: Wed, June 19 and Thu, June 20 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly and Fri, June 21 from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m.

A weekend closure of EB I-94 is also needed to work on the flyover bridge:

• EB I-94 between I-394 and I-35W will be closed from 10 p.m., Fri, June 14 to 5 a.m. Mon, June 17
• I-35W in both directions between Hwy 62 and I-94: Wed, June 19 and Thu, June 20 from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. nightly

Reminder: 15th Street closes June 17

We wanted to remind you that starting Mon, June 17, 15th St. in downtown will be closed between 4th Ave. and Portland Ave. as crews begin utility work. 15th St. will be closed through mid-July. Drivers should follow the posted detour routes.

Daytime closures of 31st St. at I-35W June 17-18

Crews need to finish work on the new I-35W bridge deck over 31st St. and need two daytime closures of 31st St. On Mon, June 17 and Tue, June 18, 31st St. will be closed between 1st Ave. S. and 3rd Ave. S. from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Drivers will be detoured to use Nicollet Ave., Lake St. and 3rd Ave. S.
