Highway impacts
As construction activities pick-up, we need some short-term and long-term closures that will impact driving on I-35W:

Access from NB I-35W to 5th Ave. in downtown will be closed April 15 through September 2019
Crews need to close this access to complete the remainder of the permanent work on the ramp. Drivers will still be able to use NB I-35W to access 11th St./Grant St.

SB I-35W between I-94 and Hwy 62 is closed from 10 p.m. Tue, April 16 to 5 a.m. Wed, April 17
Crews will be working on the 28th St. bridge. Drivers will be detoured to use WB I-94, WB I-394, SB Hwy 100 and EB Hwy 62.

Crews will be working on the 28th St. bridge. Drivers will be detoured to use WB Hwy 62, NB Hwy 100, EB I-394 and EB I-94.
31st Street daytime closure scheduled April 15
We’re ready to pour the bridge deck of the SB I-35W bridge over 31st St. To do this, we need a daytime closure of 31st St. On Mon, April 15, 31st St. will be closed between 1st Ave. and 2nd Ave. from 9 a.m. to noon. Drivers will be detoured to use Nicollet Ave., Lake St. and 3rd Ave. S.
24-hour construction activities begin April 14
Beginning 6 p.m. Sun, April 14, we will have crews working 24-hours a day, six days a week, through the summer. Overnight crews will primarily be doing earthmoving and debris hauling activities.
