SB I-35E closure Sept. 28 through Oct. 1 in Forest Lake to Vadnais Heights

We’ve heard you! Since the completion of a concrete resurfacing project seven years ago, the ride on southbound I-35E between Columbus and Vadnais Heights has gotten a little rough! So, if the weather cooperates for us, we’ll close southbound I- 35E from the I-35W/I-35E split in Columbus to County Rd. 96 in Vadnais Heights on Sept. 28 - Oct. 1. We need to repair concrete pavement joints in this area to correct problems since the old blacktop surface was removed and replaced with a nine-inch concrete surface in 2011.

Beginning at 7 p.m. on Fri, Sept. 28, we’ll start closing ramps along the southbound interstate. The southbound roadway will close at 8 p.m. During the closure, there will be no access to the southbound interstate in the project area, although roadways will remain open across I-35E.

Southbound I-35E motorists will be directed to follow the posted detour of southbound I-35W, eastbound Hwy 10, eastbound I-694 to I-35E.

Our goal is to get the highway open by 5 a.m. on Mon, Oct. 1! Thank you in advance for your patience during this quick repair project.
