It is Labor Day weekend and the
final weekend of the Minnesota State Fair. Although most road construction
is shut down over the Labor Day holiday, there are still highway work zones in
place.
Please make sure to plan ahead and
know your route before your travels this weekend, including to the Great Minnesota Get Together! And don't forget to slow down in
work zones.
If you are heading out of town, you
can view the Statewide

greater Minnesota state highways. You also can visit 511mn.org
for real-time travel information anywhere in Minnesota at any given time.
These traffic impacts are new as of
this weekend. Note, there will be no crews working on Labor Day (Mon, Sept. 3).
Hwy 50 in Farmington
- Hwy 50 between Hwy 3 in Farmington and Hwy 52 in Hampton is now open and project work is complete!

Hwy 62 in Eden Prairie and Edina
- Access to Beach Rd. from WB Hwy 62 and Clearwater Dr. will open Sat, Sept. 1. All ramps along Hwy 62 will be open over the holiday weekend.

Hwy 169 in Champlin
- Beginning Friday, Aug. 31, Hwy 169 traffic will be two lanes in each direction on the new NB and SB Elm Creek Bridge and the roadway between Hayden Lake Rd. and the Mississippi River. And NB Hwy 169 will be two lanes from Hwy 610 to Hayden Lake Rd., while SB Hwy 169 will remain a single lane from Hayden Lake Rd. to Hwy 610.
The new intersection of Dean Rd. and Hwy 169, West River Rd., 101st Ave. west of Hwy 169 and the ramp from WB Hwy 610 to NB Hwy 169 will each open Fri, Aug. 31.

These impacts will be happening early next week, after the Labor Day Holiday, as crews STOP working on Labor Day (Mon, Sept. 3).
I-35 in Harris
- Beginning Wed, Sept. 5, I-35 in both directions will have off-peak daytime lane closures between Harris and the Chisago/Pine County line through fall.

Hwy 47 and Hwy 65 in Minneapolis
- Beginning Tue, Sept. 4, work will begin on five intersections along Hwy 65 (Central Ave.) and Hwy 47 (University Ave.). Work will start on the northeast quadrant at each intersection and continue until the work is finished. Expect short-term closures and delays.

Hwy 62 Eden Prairie and Edina
- Beginning Tue, Sept. 4, the ramps from NB Hwy 169 to WB Hwy 62 and Gleason Ave. to EB Hwy 62 will be closed through Mon, Sept. 10.

These projects have already begun and continue to have traffic impacts, including over Labor Day. No new impacts related to these projects are beginning this weekend.

Hwy 7 Minnetonka to St. Louis Park
- Watch for lane closures on Hwy 7 from Baker Road to Louisiana from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Accesses to local streets may be closed temporarily through September. Crews could be striping during overnight hours. This can create noise.

Hwy 8 Forest Lake and Taylors Falls
- Two drainage improvement projects are scheduled on Hwy 8 in Chisago and Washington Counties through December 2018. Expect two closures of Hwy 8 tentatively for Mon, Sept. 10 to Fri, Sept. 14, along with lane and ramp closures during project work.

35W@94: Downtown to Crosstown in Minneapolis
- The access to downtown (11th
St./5th Ave. S/E. Grant St.) from NB I-35W is closed through fall 2018 and
the access out of downtown (from 12th St./4th Ave.) to SB I-35W is closed
through fall 2021. Routes into and out of downtown.
- WB I-94 is reduced to two lanes
from Chicago Ave. to Nicollet Ave. through fall 2018. SB I-35W is reduced
to two lanes from downtown Minneapolis to 43rd St. through fall 2019. NB
I-35W is reduced to three lanes from 43rd St. to downtown Minneapolis

The following ramps are closed: EB I-94 to SB I-35W is closed through fall 2021; NB I-35W to WB I-94 is closed through fall 2021; SB I-35W to 35th St. is closed through fall 2020; 4th Ave./16th St. to WB I-94 closed through early October 2018; EB I-94 to SB I-35W is closed through fall 2021.
- The following bridges are closed: 26th St. bridge over I-35W; 24th St. pedestrian bridge over I-35W until fall 2021; 40th St. bridge over I-35W is closed to pedestrians and bicyclists through fall 2020.
- There are several other road,
lane, ramp and local street closures.

I-35 North Metro Split from Lino Lakes to Forest Lake
- SB I-35 is reduced to two lanes separated by a concrete barrier between Hwy 8 and Hwy 97 through fall.
- The Forest Lake Rest Area from SB I-35 also is closed during this project work.

I-35E in Little Canada
- The ramp from NB I-35E to EB Hwy 36 is closed through Sat, Sept. 15.
I-35W Minneapolis to Roseville
- NB/SB I-35W is reduced by one lane between 4th St. and Co. Rd. C through Fri, Oct. 12, when weekend closures are not occurring.
- The following ramps to/from NB I-35W will be closed from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Mon. through Fri. through Fri, Oct. 12 (these ramps will not be closed consecutively): 4th St. SE, SE 11th St., Johnson St/New Brighton Blvd/Stinson Blvd., Industrial Blvd.

I-35W Minnesota River Bridge - Burnsville to Bloomington
- I-35W will have alternating lane closures in both directions between Cliff Rd. in Burnsville and 106th St. in Bloomington daily. After 10 p.m. each night I-35W may be reduced to a single lane through 5 a.m. the following day. These nightly lane closures will occur through September.

Hwy 36 Stillwater Lift Bridge
- The Hwy 36 Stillwater Lift Bridge over the St. Croix River between Stillwater, MN and Houlton, WI is closed to ALL traffic. It will reopen for pedestrian and bicycle traffic in June of 2019.
- Traffic has been transferred to the new St. Croix Crossing Bridge to the south in Oak Park Heights.

Hwy 41 Chaska
- Hwy 41 is closed between Hundertmark Rd. and Pioneer Trl. through early September. Primary Detour: Hwy 212, Powers Blvd., Lyman Blvd.

Hwy 62 in Eden Prairie and Edina
- Expect directional road closures along Hwy 62 between Highway 100 and I-494 each weekend in September.

Hwy 65 in Fridley
- Access from the West Service Drive on Hwy 65 to 63rd Ave. is closed through mid-October.

Hwy 65 Ham Lake to East Bethel
- The center median of Hwy 65 is closed at 157th Ave. Right turns only allowed from Hwy 65 and 157th Ave. through fall.
- Work has begun at the intersection of Hwy 65 and 187th Ave. and will continue through fall.

I-94 East Metro (Woodbury to St. Paul)
- All major road construction is complete. However, crews are finishing up several minor wrap-up items over the next few weeks. Work is expected to be complete by early September.

Hwy 95/Manning Ave. Woodbury to Denmark Twp.
- Hwy 95 is closed in both directions from Bailey Rd. to 70th St. through Fri, Sept. 7. Primary Detour: 70th St, Woodbury Dr. (Co. Rd. 19), Bailey Rd.

Hwy 149 High Bridge in St. Paul
- The Hwy 149 High Bridge is closed through December 2018. Primary Detour: Annapolis St. to Robert St to Kellogg Blvd to West 7th St. to Smith Ave/Hwy 149
- An Xcel Energy project is underway along Hwy 149/Dodd Rd. Motorists should anticipate the following traffic impacts due to project work: Hwy 149/Dodd Rd. traffic will be shifted and lanes will be narrowed from Hwy 110 to Lake Dr. to replace and relocate gas main through late August.
- There are several other road, lane and trail/sidewalk closures.

Hwy 169 in Belle Plaine, Jordan
- Hwy 169 is a single lane with head to head traffic traveling on nouthbound lanes from south of Hwy 25 in Belle Plaine to Hwy 19 in Blakely Township through early October. Note: For business access, use Hwy 25
- Hwy 169 is a single lane with head to head traffic traveling on southbound lanes from just south of Hwy 282 in Jordan to north of Hwy 25 in Belle Plaine through mid-September. Business Detour Map.
