Metro area weekend traffic impacts: August 18-20

As you prepare for travel this weekend, here are the projects across the Metro area. Plan ahead and know your route.

Hwy 5 in Waconia

• Hwy 5 is now open at Orchard Rd. There will be intermittent lane closures as trail work is completed through late-September.

• The left lane of the EB I-94 to 4th St. ramp is closed through early September

I-94 St. Paul to Maplewood

The following ramps are now closed:

• EB I-94 to SB Hwy 61
• Detour: EB I-94 to SB Hwy 52 to EB I-494 to SB Hwy 61

• Detour: 3rd St. E. to Johnson Pkwy to Burns Ave. to SB Hwy 61
• White Bear Ave. to EB I-94
• Detour: White Bear Ave. to Burns Ave. to NB Hwy 61 to EB I-94
• EB I-94 to Ruth St.
• Detour: SB McKnight Rd. to Burns Ave. to Ruth St.
• EB I-94 to Hwy 120/Century Ave.
• Detour: EB I-94 to NB I-694 to WB I-94 to Century Ave.

Hwy 169 Edina to Golden Valley

• From 7 p.m. Fri, Aug. 18 through 9 a.m. Sat, Aug. 19, the ramp from EB I-394 to NB Hwy 169 will be closed

Hwy 7 Shorewood to Minnetonka

• Beginning Mon, Aug. 21 through Wed, Aug. 25, the southeast quadrant of Vine Hill Rd. will be closed

Hwy 51/Snelling Ave. St. Paul to Roseville

• ALL lanes on Hwy 51/Snelling Ave. will be open through the Minnesota State Fair between Wed, Aug. 23 and Mon, Sept. 5. Minor cleanup work resumes after the fair.

I-94 Minneapolis to Brooklyn Center

• Beginning 12:01 a.m. Mon, Aug. 21, the ramp from Broadway Ave. to EB I-94 will be closed through Mon, Aug. 28

Hwy 3 in Castle Rock

• Hwy 3 is closed at the intersection of Co Rd 86 through Sept. 24

Hwy 10 at I-35W in Arden Hills

• The ramp from westbound Hwy 10 to northbound I-35W is closed through late-August. 
• Detour: West on I-694 to reach NB I-35W

Hwy 13 in Burnsville, Savage

• Hwy 13 between Hwy 169 and Washburn Ave. will have off peak weekday and weekend lane closures through late September

I-35E bridges in St. Paul

• I-35E will be have two lanes of traffic open in each direction through Sept. 22
• Shepard Rd. beneath I-35E will be a single lane in each direction through Sept. 22

I-35E in Vadnais Heights

• Intermittent lane closures may be required on I-35E between Hwy 96 and Co Rd J through summer 2017
• WB Hwy 96 between Centerville Rd and White Bear Pkwy will be reduced to a single lane through the end of August

I-35W and Co Rd I in Arden Hills, Shoreview

• The ramp from NB I-35W to Co Rd I is closed through early-September
• Detour: Co Rd 10/Mounds View Blvd. to Co Rd I
• The loop from Co Rd I to NB I-35W is closed permanently
• Detour: Rice Creek Pkwy to Co Rd J/85th Ave. NE to Airport Road to EB Hwy 10 to NB I-35W

86th St. bridge over I-35W in Bloomington

• The 86th St. bridge over I-35W is closed through October

Hwy 36 Stillwater Lift Bridge

• The Hwy 36 Stillwater lift bridge over the St. Croix River between Stillwater, MN and Houton, WI is closed to ALL traffic. It will reopen for pedestrian and bicycle traffic in June of 2019.

Hwy 47 and Hwy 65 in Minneapolis

• Access to and from Central Ave. and 22nd Ave. is closed through Sept. 1
• Work will continue on the northeast corners of First and Second Streets South at Third Ave. and the southeast corner of First Street North through Aug. 21
• Access to the east side and west side of 20th Ave. from Central Ave. is closed through Aug. 21

Hwy 52 in Coates

• Hwy 52 will have lane closures in both directions south of Coates between 170th St. and Co Rd 86/280th St in Randolph Township through November

Hwy 95 Woodbury to Afton

• SB Hwy 95 will be closed from just north of 22nd St. in Woodbury to south of 15th St. in Afton through late-fall

Hwy 110 in Mendota Heights

• WB Hwy 110 is closed between I-494 and I-35E through fall
• Detour: Continue on I-494 to NB I-35E to Hwy 110
• Charlton Rd. is closed at Hwy 110 through fall
• Sunfish Lane is a right in and right out  to and from EB Hwy 110 through fall

I-694 Little Canada to Arden Hills

• EB I-694 is restricted to two lanes separated by a concrete median barrier between Hwy 10 and I-35E. The inside lane carries through traffic and must continue east on I-694. The outside lane allows local ramp access and must continue south on I-35E. This will last through November.
• WB I-694 is reduced to two lanes through October
• The ramps from EB I-694 to Rice St. and from Rice St. to EB I-694 are closed through late August. The ramp from Rice St to WB I-694 is closed for the duration of project work
