Minnesota Department of Human Rights increases Workforce Participation Goals to reduce barriers for women and people of color
On July 17, 2017, Minnesota Department of Human Rights
Commissioner Kevin Lindsey announced increased Workforce Participation Goals
for women and people of color throughout Minnesota for state construction
contractors. These increased goals seek to reduce barriers to workforce entry,
to respond to demographic changes, and to prepare for Minnesota’s emerging workforce
shortage. See the
new goals and read the full press release from MDHR.
The goals established by MDHR are applicable to the Title VII Equal
Employment Opportunity Program for MnDOT and State Aid construction
projects.
The Minnesota Department of Human Rights is hosting a
free webinar on July 24, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. related to these new goals. The
webinar is called “Strengthening and Diversifying Minnesota’s Workforce.”
