Metro area weekend traffic impacts: July 7-9

As you prepare for travel this weekend, here are the projects across the Metro area. Plan ahead and know your route.

I-35E in Vadnais Heights

• Beginning 8 p.m. Fri, July 7 through 5 a.m. Mon, July 10, the Hwy 96 bridge spanning I-35E will be closed

86th St. bridge over I-35W in bloomington

• Beginning 10 p.m. Fri, July 7 through 5 a.m. Mon, July 10, NB I-35W will be closed from I-35/I-35E/I-35W to I-494 and SB I-35W will be closed from I-494 to 90th St. The 82nd St. bridge will also close.
• NB Detour: I-35E to NB Hwy 77 to WB I-494 to NB I-35W
• SB Detour: EB I-494 to SB Hwy 77 to I-35E to SB I-35
• Bridge Detour: Lyndale or Penn Ave. to American Blvd. to 82nd St.
• During the same timeframe, SB I-35W will be reduced to a single lane from 90th St. and the I-35/I-35E/I35W merge

Hwy 51/Snelling Ave. St. Paul to Roseville

• The ramps from EB Hwy 36 to NB Hwy 51 and from NB Hwy 51 to EB Hwy 36 are closed through July 20

Hwy 169 Edina to Golden Valley

• The following ramps are now closed through July 11: 36th St. to NB Hwy 169, SB Hwy 169 to Minnetonka Blvd. and Cedar Lake Rd. to SB Hwy 169
• Beginning 5 a.m. Fri, July 7 through Fri, July 14 the ramp from Hwy 7 to SB Hwy 169 will be closed

Hwy 13 in Burnsville, Savage

• Beginning Mon, July 10, Hwy 13 between Hwy 169 and Washburn Ave. will have off peak weekday and weekend lane closures through late-September

Hwy 47 and Hwy 65 in Minneapolis

• Beginning Mon, July 10, access to and from the east side of 13th Ave. at University Ave. will be closed through July 24

Hwy 52 in Coates

• Beginning Mon, July 10, Hwy 52 will have lane closures in both directions south of Coates between 170th St. and 222nd St. through November

Hwy 169 Edina to Golden Valley

• Beginning Mon, July 10, the SB Hwy 169 ramps to and from 16th St. will close permanently
• Alternate routes:
• From I-394: Hopkins Crossroad interchange, Wayzata Blvd. (South Frontage Road) to Ford Rd.
• From Hwy 169: Cedar Lake Rd. (interchange) to Ford Rd, or, Betty Crocker Dr, Shelard Pkwy, Wayzata Blvd. (South Frontage Rd) to Ford Rd.

I-35E bridges in St. Paul

• I-35E will be have two lanes of traffic open in each direction through Sept. 22
• Shepard Rd. beneath I-35E will be a single lane in each direction through Sept. 22

Hwy 10 at I-35W in Arden Hills

• The ramp from westbound Hwy 10 to northbound I-35W is closed through late-August. 
• Detour: West on I-694 to reach NB I-35W

I-35W and Co Rd I in Arden Hills, Shoreview

• The ramp from NB I-35W to Co Rd I is closed through early-September
• Detour: Co Rd 10/Mounds View Blvd. to Co Rd I
• The loop from Co Rd I to NB I-35W is closed permanently
• Detour: Rice Creek Pkwy to Co Rd J/85th Ave. NE to Airport Road to EB Hwy 10 to NB I-35W

Co Rd 42 at Hwy 52 in Rosemount

• Hwy 52 between the ramps at Co Rd 42 is closed until fall to reconstruct the bridges over Co Rd 42.
• Traffic on Hwy 52 will be maintained using the ramps at Co Rd 42 as bypasses. Right turns to/from Co Road 42 will be allowed. No left turns will be permitted.

I-94 Minneapolis to Brooklyn Center

• The WB side of the Lowry Tunnel is closed. I-94 traffic is traveling on the EB side of the tunnel with several ramp closures. Note: Trucks are prohibited from the tunnel.
• EB and WB I-94 traffic is shifted to the inside lanes between Hwy 55 and Hwy 252 through mid-August.
• Expect lane shifts and restrictions and several ramp closures on eastbound I-94 and westbound I-94 between Shingle Creek Pkwy and Nicollet Ave in Mpls through the end of 2017
• Eastbound I-94 reduced to two lanes between I-694/I-94 split and Hwy 252 through Aug. 1

I-94 St. Paul to Maplewood

• The right lane on NB Hwy 120/Century Ave. from just south of I-94 to 3M/Innovation Rd is closed through mid-July
  
• Drivers should expect lane restrictions in both directions and traffic delays as project work continues between St. Paul and Maplewood. There are also several ramp closures and detours.

Hwy 95 at St. Croix Crossing

• Both northbound and southbound lanes of Hwy 95 are reduced to one lane under the bridge through early-June

Hwy 110 in Mendota Heights

• The loop ramp from Hwy 3/Robert St. to EB I-494 is closed through July 24
• EB Hwy 110 between I-35E and I-494 is closed through Aug. 7

Hwy 169 in Plymouth

• Medicine Lake Ln and Lancaster Ln remain closed to through traffic

I-694 Little Canada to Arden Hills

• Eastbound I-694 is restricted to two lanes separated by a concrete median barrier between Hwy 10 and I-35E. The inside lane carries through traffic and must continue east on I-694. The outside lane allows local ramp access and must continue south on I-35E. This will last through November.
• Westbound I-694 is reduced to two lanes through October.
• The ramp from Rice St to westbound I-694 is now closed for the duration of project work
