The public is invited to an open house Thursday, June 29
in Harmony to learn more about the Highway 139 resurfacing project.
The meeting will be held from 5-6:30 p.m., Thursday, June
29 in the Harmony Community Center at 225 3rd Ave. SW in Harmony.
Dunn Blacktop Company, a division of Mathy Construction,
is the prime contractor for the project. Representatives from Dunn Blacktop,
MnDOT and others will be on hand at the open house to talk about the $1.9
million project; including timelines, traffic control and scope.
Construction
is expected to begin July 10 and completed in August 2017. The 3.9 mile project
along Highway 139 in Fillmore County starts in Harmony from Highway 52 to the
Iowa border. The purpose of the project is to replace the aging pavement and
improve safety along the corridor. The project also includes ADA improvements
in Harmony, including curb ramps and upgrading some sidewalks.
