New this weekend

These traffic impacts are new as of this weekend.

Hwy 3 in Farmington

Through 7 p.m. Fri, Nov. 4, both directions of Hwy 3 will have alternating lanes closures between Elm St. and 170th St. West. A width limit of 11 feet 0 inches is in effect during these closures. Continuing this weekend: As construction is wrapping up, watch for flaggers and detours in the project area.

Hwy 7 over Hwy 100 in St. Louis Park

Now Open: The Hwy 7 bridge over Hwy 100 and the following ramps: Minnetonka Blvd to southbound Hwy 100, northbound Hwy 100 to 36th St. and 36th St. to northbound Hwy 100.

Hwy 10 in Anoka

Now Open: Hwy 10 lanes and ramps between Thurston Ave. and Fairoak Ave. Project work is now complete! 

I-35 between Pine City and Hinckley

Updates: Southbound I-35 between Hwy 23 and Co Rd 11 is open to two lanes of traffic. All ramps are now open. Motorists will continue to encounter temporary lane and shoulder closures until the project is completed, which is anticipated for Sat, Nov. 5.

I-35W in Arden Hills

Update: The ramp from southbound I-35W to Co Rd H is on bypass lanes and open to motorists. Continuing this weekend: Co Rd H is closed between I-35W and Co Rd H  along with the ramps from Co Rd H to northbound and southbound I-35W are closed through late-fall.

I-94 from St. Paul to Maplewood

Now Open: All ramps in the project area. Beginning 9 p.m. Mon, Nov. 7 through 3 p.m. Tue, Nov. 8, eastbound I-94 will be reduced to a single lane. Note: Once the closure is complete, the project area will be ready for winter travel (lanes and ramps will be as they were before project work started). Project work will continue in Spring 2017.

Hwy 100 in St. Louis Park

Hwy 100 is two lanes in each direction between Minnetonka Blvd and 36th Street in St. Louis Park until late Sat, Nov. 5. Project work is near completion, once it is completed, all lanes on Hwy 100 between I-394 and Hwy 62 will be open, along with all ramps. However, the ramp from southbound Hwy 100 to 50th St/Vernon Ave. is closed until mid-December.

Hwy 169 in Hopkins - New Project!

Project work on Hwy 169 between Hwy 55 in Golden Valley and Hwy 62 in Eden Prairie will begin January 2017. It will include replacing the Hwy 169 bridge over Nine Mile Creek in Hopkins, improving pedestrian accessibility and reconstructing more than six miles of pavement. Project work is anticipated to be complete by late-September 2017. Visit the Hwy 169 project website to learn more and sign-up for email updates.

I-494 in the west metro

Project work is anticipated to be completed Sat, Nov. 5. Both directions of I-494 will then be open again to all lanes between I-394 and I-94/I-694.


Existing and ongoing

These traffic impacts are ongoing and will continue through this weekend.

Hwy 8 in Taylors Falls

Work will continue through November on Hwy 8 between Hwy 95/Tern Ave in Chisago County. in Franconia/Shafer to Bench St. in Taylors Falls in Chisago County. The new roundabout at Hwy 8 and Hwy 95 is complete. Hwy 8 is closed in both directions between the south and north intersections of Hwy 95 in Franconia/Shafer Townships and Taylors Falls. Hwy 8 between Hwy 95/Bench St. and the Hwy 8 Wisconsin bridge is single lane traffic in both directions.

I-35E in St. Paul, north of I-94

Intermittent overnight lane closures will continue to occur as needed on westbound I-94 at I-35E and on I-35E between I-94 and Maryland Ave. for miscellaneous project activities through November. Then, crews will return in spring 2017 to complete the Cayuga interchange and the nearby frontage road.

I-35E in Vadnais Heights

Now Open: The ramp from Hwy 96 to southbound I-35E. Hwy 96 will have intermittent single lane traffic in both directions from White Bear Pkwy to Centerville Rd. There will be intermittent lane closures daily during non-peak hours on I-35E between Hwy 96 to Co Rd J. The ramp from northbound I-35E to Hwy 96 is closed until late-November. Crews will continue to work some in the winter ,away from traffic, on the noise walls then resume in Spring 2017, to complete that work.

Hwy 36 in Roseville

The ramps between eastbound Hwy 36 and Lexington Ave. are closed through mid-November. Project work is wrapping up, motorists may encounter delays through mid-November. Note: Once project work is completed, all lanes in both directions of Hwy 36 between Hamline Ave. and Victoria St. will be open, along with all ramps.

Hwy 47 and Hwy 65 in Minneapolis

Through early-November both Third Ave. and Eighth Ave. will be closed at University Ave. - motorists will not be able to access either Third Ave. or Eighth Ave. east of University Ave. Note: Once these closures open, project work will be completed and Hwy 47/University Ave. from Central Ave. to 20th Ave. and Hwy 65/Central Ave. from S. 2nd St. to 35th Ave. NE will be open to motorists and the sidewalks open to pedestrians.

Hwy 61 and Hwy 97 in Forest Lake

Major construction on the Hwy 61 and Hwy 97 Forest Lake roundabout project is complete. Access to all directions of Hwy 97, Hwy 61 and 210th St is open. Motorists will now be able to use the fully constructed roundabouts. Pedestrians can avoid highway traffic by utilizing the new pedestrian bridge over Hwy 61. Traffic is reduced to a single lane through late-fall as crews finish clean-up in the construction area. 

I-94 bridges in St. Paul

The Grotto St. and MacKubin St. ped and bike bridges, along with the Dale St. entrance ramps to both directions of I-94 are closed through late-November. Note: A highway maintenance project to manage vegetation along I-94 between St. Paul and Minneapolis is happening now through next summer.

I-694 between Little Canada and Arden Hills

The ramps between westbound I-694 and Victoria St are closed until late-November. Westbound I-694 traffic between I-35E and Lexington Ave. is separated by a concrete barrier; the left lane will carry through traffic with no access to local roads and the right lane will carry traffic with access to local roads through late-November. Note: The new westbound lane will be completed by late-November with three lanes of traffic and no restrictions in either direction through the winter. Project work of the new third lane on eastbound I-694 will begin Spring 2017.
