With the
school year fast approaching, we’ve got some great news to share!
Major
construction on the Hwy 61 and Hwy 97 Forest Lake roundabout project is
expected to be complete by the end of this week, Fri, Sept. 2. This means
construction is nearly finished and you’ll be able to access all directions of
Hwy 97, Hwy 61 and 210th St. in the construction area again. Construction
crews also expect to open the pedestrian bridge.
For now, the
brand new roundabouts will only have a single lane of traffic while minor
construction cleanup work continues. The
cleanup work shouldn’t take too long though. Then, we’ll start the permanent
lane striping.
Once the
remaining minor work is complete, we’re expecting to open all lanes of traffic
by end of September, weather permitting.
Until then,
you’ll see orange cones and construction crews… So please be attentive, drive
with caution and slow down as you travel through the work zone.
Thank you for
your patience during this construction project!
