Hello again,
The St. Croix Crossing project has reached another construction milestone: Span 14 bridge deck construction is underway.
Span 14 stretches from Pier 13 to the east
abutment on the Wisc. bluff. The contractor is using a ringer crane near the shoreline to lift each box-like segment onto a temporary rail system that moves the segment to its spot in the bridge deck sequence. Crews will use epoxy and post-tensioned cables to connect the segments, similar to the process used on the water.

 Construction crews anticipate
completing segment placement at Pier 9 near Minn. land in mid-June--116 segments make up the eastbound and westbound lanes at each pier location. Photo from June 8 of Piers 8-10 (right to left).
